BREVI CENNI STORICI

The year was 1960 when a group of volunteers (we have listed some here, without claiming to be complete: Meinrad Devittori, Rigiani brothers, Gino Giuliani, Stefano Buzzi, Mario Buzzi, Gianplacido Giamboni, John Bishop) planted the seeds for the foundation of society.
Then there was the road that came up to Gorda: Camperio volunteers departed from carrying on their shoulders to the prefabricated parts of Punta Laresca (Pilon) . at an altitude of 2194 m, and built the shelter-camp calling it "an eagle's nest."
few years later, notably in 1965, was built the first cabin in Gorda.
From "Pilon" went the first edition of the giant slalom at the cantonal level, and the competitors went to start walking! They took part in this race then known names: Pilotti, Segrado, Mottis and other men, women bishops Delfina, Francine Martinoli (just to mention some of those brave!).

CAPANNA DI GORDA

Gorda's Cabin, located am 1800 s / m, set in a large pasture above the houses of the Mountains of Gorda.
The first cabin was built in wood in 1965, then replaced in 2000 with the current building in brick and wood, on two floors, complete kitchen, dining room, bathroom and shower modern and functional. Owner of the hut is the Alpine Club Eagle's Nest (SAND)
currently capannaro is Mr. Valerio Barison (see "Managing hut")
The view from the cottage is spectacular sull'Adula and throughout the valley.

Since 2009, the cabin is also equipped with a wind energy plant (at the initiative of the guardian, supported, financed and operated in collaboration with a group of friends) and donated to the Eagle's Nest Company August 29, 2010, during a brief ceremony held in Gorda . This system works very well and - along with solar panels already installed some years ago - completely covers the energy needs of the cabin, especially in winter.

Every summer a colony is also organized for children with various activities to know the mountain, led by monitors trained and motivated to convey to participants the love and passion for our beautiful mountains!

Ogni anno, il 14 e 15 agosto,
la Società organizza una festa :

la sera del 14 maccheronata con musica e ballo

il 15 si propone una grigliata mista e nell'oratorio di San Lorenzo, situato in fondo al nucleo di Gorda, si celebra la S. Messa della Madonna Assunta (sembra strano, ma è proprio così).

ESCURSIONI DALLA CAPANNA DI GORDA


Alla capanna di Gorda si può arrivare con la strada carrozzabile.
Da qui si possono fare diverse belle escursioni: Passo Bareta, Pian di Nara-Leontica, Bassa Nara-Leventina, Punta di Larescia (detta anche Cima di Gorda o "Pilon"), dove si trova il rifugio Nido d'Aquila.
Per chi non conosce la zona, basta munirsi di carta geografica del luogo (carta nazionale 1253 Olivone) o chiedere le cartine adatte presso l'Ente Turistico a Olivone.

WINTER OPENING

The hut will be opened in the presence of the caretaker by Friday, December 24, 2010 to Sunday, January 9, 2011.

In case of bad weather conditions, the custodian will be present every weekend until the end of March. Upon request and only for groups of at least 10 people, also will be available during the week.
